Canberra Raiders and Denman Prospect aiming to raise $90k for Homes for Homes.

This weekend every point the Canberra Raiders score means another $100 in donations for Homes for Homes, an initiative that aims to tackle Australia’s housing crisis. It’s this season’s last chance to reach a donation goal of $90,000.

For the last three seasons, the Canberra Raiders have pledged $100 per point scored at home games to Homes for Homes.

“The Raiders’ long-term commitment to Homes for Homes turns every try scored at home games into $400 and every conversion into a further $200 donation to help address the shortage of social and affordable housing,” says Nick McDonald Crowley, Project Director, Denman Prospect. “We have been proud sponsors of the team and this initiative, which funds social and affordable projects in the ACT.”

The Raiders will announce this season’s donation just after Saturday’s home game.

“We are proud to join Denman Prospect in strengthening communities here in the ACT,” says Ricky Stuart, Head Coach of the Canberra Raiders. “All money we raise together will stay here in the ACT for local, Homes For Homes projects.”

Together the Raiders and Denman Prospect donated $34,000 in 2016 and $29,200 last year. Denman Prospect is also the first entire Australian suburb committed to the Homes for Homes initiative, donating an additional $126,000 so far as a result of land sales in the suburb.
