The Farm IGA opening soon in Denman Prospect
New supermarket will open soon at Denman Prospect in the Molonglo Valley
Denman Prospect and Steve Smith, the owner of the Yass Supa IGA, are bringing a unique, high-quality fresh produce, meat and vegie market to the Molonglo Valley.
The Farm at Denman Prospect will open at the Denman Village Shops in January 2019. It will feature the same exceptional fresh bread, fruit, vegetable and meat selection that the Yass store is known for, in a 1,000m² shop designed by Denman Prospect and the team behind Canberra Airport.
“We are delighted to partner with Steve whose shop is widely-recognised for its exceptional quality,” says Nick McDonald Crowley, Director – Project Delivery, Denman Prospect. “Before the Capital Airport Group redeveloped the terminal, they toured airports across the world to see what is outstanding. Similarly, the Denman team toured grocery stores to influence the design and create the highest-quality, fresh-food market, unlike anything else in Canberra.”
“This will be a world-class supermarket,” says Steve Smith of The Farm at Denman Prospect. “The design is fantastic, and it will showcase all of the fresh produce and meat people love us for in Yass, but also healthy prepared foods such as sushi and baked goods. We will elevate the local grocery store and give the Molonglo Valley the best selection and a high-quality shopping experience.”
The Farm at Denman Prospect will also help to grow the community-oriented and charitable spirit that Denman Prospect has become known for. Mr Smith has widely supported the local drought appeal, schools and charities. He says The Farm at Denman Prospect will participate in local fundraising and Denman Prospect shoppers can contribute IGA card reward points to their favourite charities.
The Farm at Denman Prospect is the largest retail space at the Denman Village Shops which is set below 16 residential terraces, with views toward the National Arboretum Canberra. It will be the largest store alongside eight specialty shops, a medical centre, a childcare centre, a gym and a café. Expressions of Interest are currently being accepted for the café space.
“We aren’t just building a suburb,” says Mr McDonald-Crowley. “We are building a community with partners, like Steve, who understand the importance of how strong, community-minded, retail can anchor a neighbourhood. He is an exceptional retailer who will only enhance our offering to buyers looking for a host of amenities to enrich their lives, expansive views, beautiful outdoor spaces and stunning public art.”
